SCBA Courses
Course description
A self-contained breathing apparatus, or SCBA, is a device worn by rescue workers, firefighters, and others to deliver breathable air in a “Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health” environment. It is also known as a Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus (CABA) or Simply Breathing Apparatus (SBA) (IDLH).
The Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) training is now an important part of a firefighter’s personal protective equipment (PPE) and, quite likely, the single most useful piece of safety equipment. Even as the scope of the fire service has increased, this basic piece of respiratory protection has shown its utility. The SCBA is vital in confined space, technical rescue, and hazardous-materials accidents, in addition to structure firefighting.
The delegates will be able to perform pre-wearer tests, as well as wear and maintain the breathing gear, after completing the programme. The session will include hands-on training with the equipment to guarantee comprehensive comprehension of the material. Participants will be familiar with the following by the completion of this training programme:
- Respiratory Physiology
- Asphyxiation
- Anatomy and Functions of the SCBA
- Considerations for Safety
- Operations
- Checks for Pre-Wearers
- Donning
- Wearing
- Doffing
- Cleaning
- Storage
Benefits of SCBA Training:
Participants will be able to utilize a SCBA safely and successfully in both typical work assignments and emergency situations.
