OH Risk Assessment
Indoor air quality
This course covers the fundamentals of a developing field in buildings: Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). The need of maintaining adequate IAQ will be realised by the students. Particulate matters (PM2.5, PM10), radon, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), asbestos, bio-aerosols, and other characteristics linked with indoor air contaminants (IAC) are presented. These IAC are reviewed in terms of safe exposure limits, health impacts, measuring methodologies, and mitigation and control approaches. This course also covers other key aspects of indoor air quality, such as building ventilation systems, interior flow characteristics, sick building syndrome, and thermal comfort.
Lighting assessment
Good lighting does not always imply more illumination, and greater lighting does not always imply more energy use. When it comes to lighting, good lighting means more effective illumination while consuming less energy. It’s critical to utilize the most appropriate equipment to satisfy the lighting needs, as well as the most energy-efficient equipment of its kind. Lighting is delivered just where and when it is needed in the most energy efficient lighting designs. This may be accomplished by suitable design, which can result in either uniform general illumination or targeted lighting.
Ergonomic assessment
An ergonomic evaluation is a visual inspection of a worker’s workplace to verify proper working postures and setup.
The goal of a competent ergonomic evaluation is to decrease a worker’s exposure to physical dangers like:
The goal of a competent ergonomic evaluation is to decrease a worker’s exposure to physical dangers like:
- Embarrassing positions
- Tasks that must be repeated
Ergonomic Assessments for Straining of the Body should be conducted by highly certified Occupational Health Professionals. Following the completion of an evaluation, the worker/employer is given a written report describing all findings and suggestions.
In an ergonomic examination, posture, mobility, and temperature are all aspects to consider.
