Course description

This training is for personnel who may be assigned to the role of Hole Watch/Hole Watcher/Attendant/Qualified Safety Monitor when working in restricted areas. The standards for employees performing this activity are found in OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.146. In addition, the OSHAD CoP 27 regulations for confined space work are covered in this training session. Learning Outcomes Understand why the task of Hole watch/Attendant was assigned. Recognize the obligations and tasks of a restricted space attendant. Recognize the signs and symptoms, as well as the repercussions of exposure. Learn how to make a record entry. Learn about the various communication systems and methods. Know how to contact emergency and rescue agencies. Requirements for confined space rescue A breathing equipment is demonstrated in action. Different rescue operations are seen in action. CPR/Recovery Position Demonstration in Action These responsibilities include knowing the hazards that may be encountered during entry, such as the type, signs, and symptoms of overexposure, as well as the consequences of the exposure, keeping an accurate headcount, remaining outside the permit space until relieved, communicating with entrants, summoning emergency and rescue personnel, and ensuring that all equipment is on hand.
In addition, this training session covers Hovensa procedure #28, which deals with limited space entrance in refineries. All contractor and Hovensa workers are required to complete this training session. Learning Objectives:
