Basic fire fighting
Course description
To give participants a better understanding of the principles and best practises of fire safety, as well as to ensure that they know how to operate fire protection equipment to a basic level of competence, and to instil confidence in firefighting with various extinguishing media, allowing them to contribute to the prevention of fires and reducing the impact of fires if they do occur.
The Basic Fire Fighting training is designed to help senior managers, section engineers, line managers, safety committees, and company workers operate safely and efficiently in accordance with their company’s policy and best practices. To ensure that the safety standards are understood, and to allow them to examine their departmental systems for safety, installing controls or making modifications as needed to guarantee workplace safety.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
- Outline the fire safety regulations and define the essential steps of the fire risk assessment process in terms of workplace fire safety
- Understand the combustion process and how fires are started, as well as presenting illustrations of the Fire triangle's components
- Explain the differences between fire and smoke
- Explain how flames are put out and what the safe operating conditions for portable fire-fighting equipment are
- Understand the emergency protocols and determine the right measures to take in the event of an emergency
